1970 Lotus 72C - Jochen Rindt 1/20th Scale Model Kit

$67.49

The always innovative Team Lotus entered the 1970 F1 season with the Lotus Type 72C, and successive improvements resulted with the Model C. Jochen Rindt's driving demonstrated the exemplary fast speeds of the Lotus 72C.

The profile of the body of the 72 was made to resemble the shape of a wedge, thereby improving it's aerodynamics with less drag, but also obtaining enough downforce to maintain control.

This was the first F1 car that attempted to integrate both reduced drag and improved downforce in the car body itself.

The Lotus 72 went on to incorporate numerous other improvements and remained a contender even up to the 1975 season, making for a phenomenally long career for this famed race car.

Driver figure not included.
