1971 Tyrrell 002 - Francois Cevert 1/20th Scale Model Kit

$67.49

In the 1970 season Ken Tyrrell's Tyrrell Racing Organization's first raced it's own car, known as the Tyrrell 001, which showed potential in the hands of Jackie Stewart. For 1971 the car was further improved into the Tyrrell 002 and 003. 002 and 003 are basically the same car. The biggest differences with the 001 are a 1.5 inch longer wheel base and a 4.5 inch longer monocoque to provide a cockpit spacious enough for Francois Cevert to fit his tall frame.

Chassis 002 was made available from the start of the season as Francois Cevert's car. While Stewart went on to drive chassis 003 to the World Championship, Cevert took second place in the French and German Grand Prix, third place in Italy and sixth in Canada before securing his first victory in the United States, thus helping bring Team Tyrrell the Constructor's Championship. 002 was again campaigned in the 1972 season as Cevert's car.
